PARRAMATTA, NSW, Australia In what may be a record, a man has been involved in four collisions with other cars, all in the space of about half an hour.
Even more incredible is that he was driving a different vehicle in each crash.
The man appeared in Parramatta Bail court in Sydney's Weston Saturday on a string of charges.
The drama began around 7:30am on Friday morning when a Kia Cerato travelling south on the Princes Highway, in the Sydney suburb of Rockdale, collided with a Mercedes and a Nissan Navara.
A number of witnesses stopped to assist.
Police have been told the driver and the only person in the Kia got out of his car and jumped in the Nissan and drove off as by-standers were notifying authorities.
A short time later, the Nissan collided with a Toyota Corolla at the intersection of Jubilee Avenue, in Kogarah.
The driver got out of the Nissan, before it rolled onto the other side of the road and hit a Nissan Pulsar.
A man in a Volkswagen Golf stopped to provide assistance, when the offender got into the Volkswagen and drove off.
At the intersection of Park Road, Carlton, the Volkswagen collided with a Mitsubishi Outlander before mounting the kerb and hitting a traffic light pole. The injured driver fled and attempted to hide.
Officers from St George Police Area Command conducted a search of the area and arrested a 35-year-old man.
He was taken to St George Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
Upon his release from hospital, he was taken to St George Police Station and charged
The man was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Court in Sydney's Weston Saturday.
