KABUL, April 21 (Xinhua) -- A powerful explosion shook Kabul, capital of Afghanistan on Tuesday night, an Afghan security official confirmed, without providing information on casualties.
At around 9:50 p.m. on Tuesday, an explosion rocked Police District 15 of Kabul, said Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Arian. But he gave no further details.
A security source told local media TOLOnews that the blast occurred as a result of a suicide bombing that targeted a convoy of the National Directorate of Security (NDS), the Afghan intelligence agency.
No organization has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
