PanARMENIAN.Net - The European Union is ready to support normalization processes in the South Caucasus and is actively engaging with both Azerbaijan and Turkey, European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos said during a joint press conference in Brussels. The event featured Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, and Commissioner Kos.

"We are ready to support the normalization process and, in this regard, we are also working with Azerbaijan and Turkey. There's a lot we can achieve in the South Caucasus through a connectivity agenda, but this depends on peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan," Kos stated, as reported by 1lurer.am .

Kos highlighted her recent participation in an investment forum in Tashkent, where she launched a new platform to bring together governments, international financial institutions, and private businesses. "Governments alone can't achieve this. We also need to attract private investments. This is mainly about diversification along the southern route," she noted.

"One European business representative told me: 'You build the infrastructure, and we'll do the business. We know how to run businesses and make money, but we need infrastructure.' TRIPP is just part of the connectivity effort; we must link East and West. We're discussing a special quadrilateral group involving Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Europe," Kos added.

Kaja Kallas, in turn, said: "We discussed what exactly we can do. We have the opportunity to meet with all partners and raise issues with everyone. Sometimes small things matter a lot, such as opening border checkpoints, enhancing connectivity, and developing energy infrastructure."

On December 2, following the 6th session of the Armenia-EU Partnership Council in Brussels, Armenia and the European Union signed a strategic partnership agenda. The document was signed by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and EU High Representative Kaja Kallas.
