PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan announced that in the near future, Armenia may begin exporting goods to Azerbaijan, not just importing from it. He made the remarks on December 28 near the Church of the Holy Mother of God in Garni, where he was attending a mass with the Prime Minister.

"Exports are also possible, not just imports. We've secured a competitive rate from the Georgian railway, which opens many opportunities. As has been the practice, they announce the deal, we confirm it. I believe the Georgian and Azerbaijani sides will soon announce another successful agreement, and we'll confirm it as usual," Papoyan told Azatutyun.

The minister listed potential export goods, including aluminum, aluminum foil, ferromolybdenum, fruits and vegetables, certain types of beverages, and textile products.

Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan also addressed the topic of importing Azerbaijani gasoline, noting that there is high demand for it.

"From what I understand, this gasoline is very beneficial for Armenian citizens. I've seen boycott calls, but also heard about queues for that gasoline," Mirzoyan said, according to Auroranews.am.

When asked why Azerbaijan is supplying Armenia with cheap fuel, Mirzoyan responded: "Because peace has been established and cooperation must be formed. Their cargo will pass through our territory, and we will pass through theirs."

On December 19, a train carrying 22 wagons of gasoline from Azerbaijan's SOCAR company arrived in Armenia.
