Afghanistan rolls out 169 development projects to improve living conditions

KABUL, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- A total of 169 development and maintenance projects have been completed and brought into operation in Paktia province, eastern Afghanistan, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development announced Tuesday.

These initiatives include a range of essential improvements, including water dams, rural road reconstruction, water canals, bridges, culverts, and retaining walls, and were implemented in Zurmat district, according to the ministry's statement.

In a related development, the ministry has completed and handed over 51 infrastructure projects in northern Samangan province over the past week.

By prioritizing rural rehabilitation, water resource management, and essential public works, the Afghan government seeks to address persistent economic challenges, alleviate poverty, and generate employment opportunities across the country.
