KABUL, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Afghan authorities have begun constructing new water supply networks in both east Kapisa and west Herat provinces, according to the official media Bakhtar news agency on Monday.
In Kapisa province, 10 water supply networks, valued at more than 163,000 U.S. dollars, are being developed across several districts. Once completed, the networks are expected to provide clean and safe drinking water to hundreds of families, improving daily living conditions, the report said.
Meanwhile, in Herat province, construction has started on an additional water supply network in Ghoryan district. This project will benefit over 164 families, offering them improved access to clean water and supporting overall community well-being.
These initiatives reflect ongoing efforts by Afghan authorities to strengthen essential infrastructure and address long-standing water scarcity challenges faced by local communities.
