PanARMENIAN.Net - The Azerbaijani national team will not participate in the upcoming European Shooting Championship in Yerevan, according to the team's head coach Irada Ashumova, Oxu.az reports.
The championship, focusing on 10-meter air shooting events, will take place in Armenia's capital from February 27 to March 5.
Irada Ashumova, a 67-year-old Olympic bronze medalist and three-time World Championship medalist, stated that the team has no plans to attend.
"During the CIS Games, Armenian athletes were given safety guarantees in Azerbaijan but chose not to attend. That's why we've decided not to participate in this European Championship. We didn't even contact any state agencies about it," Ashumova said.
