PanARMENIAN.Net - The European Union intends to intensify cooperation with Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey within its strategy to develop transport and energy links toward the Black Sea and Central Asia, European Commissioner Marta Kos said ahead of a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council.
"Today we see how well-founded the European Commission's Black Sea strategy is. Connectivity is one of its key components. Within this framework, we are better linking Europe with Central Asia through Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey," she said, according to Factor.am .
She emphasized that trade and energy have been identified as key areas of cooperation.
"Trade routes in the north are closed due to Russia, while southern routes have been disrupted due to the war involving Iran," Kos noted.
According to her, following the foreign ministers' meeting, EU relations with the South Caucasus countries were also discussed.
On December 2, 2025, in Brussels, Armenia and the EU signed a strategic partnership agenda following the 6th meeting of the Armenia-EU Partnership Council. The document was signed by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and EU High Representative Kaja Kallas.
