PanARMENIAN.Net - Tigran Abrahamyan, an MP from the I Have Honor parliamentary faction, wrote on Facebook that Azerbaijan will exert maximum pressure on Armenia to secure demands that have not yet materialized.
"In response to the Armenian authorities presenting peace as a fact, the Azerbaijani president spoke in Baku about the return of Azerbaijanis to Armenia, and accused Armenia of expelling Azerbaijanis and destroying their spiritual and cultural heritage. In short, the same narrative that's been repeated for five years," Abrahamyan noted.
He also recalled that just days ago, President Aliyev's aide, speaking in the presence of an Armenian official, mentioned the "Zangezur Corridor," Azerbaijan's growing regional leadership due to its dialogue with Armenia, and its emergence as a regional power.
According to Abrahamyan, Azerbaijan has already achieved the vast majority of its demands and used Armenia's leadership to fulfill its image-building and strategic ambitions, leaving Armenia with little room to act independently.
"And what will Azerbaijan do in this situation? Yes, it will apply relentless pressure on Armenia to obtain what has not yet been realized," he concluded.
Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry has declared that the EU-Armenia Strategic Agenda signed on December 2 in Brussels contradicts the peace agenda with Azerbaijan. Baku expects the removal of language it deems unfavorable.
